“If I could sit across the porch from God, I’d thank him for lending me, you.”
I first read a quote very similar if not the same as the one above on a greeting card in my twenties. I bought it and gave it to my then long time boyfriend. He was truly my first love.
Very sadly, I found out recently that he passed away a few years ago, leaving behind his wife and three daughters.
Hearing about his death hit me very hard. He was, as the quote suggests, a truly wonderful part of my life. I’m so glad that he was a part of it.
I’m also so happy that he found someone who he loved deeply and that they had three beloved daughters. I can imagine what a wonderful father he must have been.
While processing my initial grief, I remembered this quote, and me being me, I created this image quote.
It’s irrelevant if you believe in God or not. What is more important is that you know, deep inside, who you are irrevocably thankful for in your life.
For me, one of those people was Randy.
Note; After a bit of research, I have discovered that Flavia wrote the original quote that inspired the one above.
That is so true, “What is more important is that you know, deep inside, who you are irrevocably thankful for in your life.”
Just the act of being thankful raises our spirits.
Absolutely! Thank you 🙂
