You Are Your Best Thing; Beloved.
A gathering of our childhood beloveds.

“Me and you, we got more yesterday than anybody.”  (Toni Morrison, Beloved)

My daughters and I gathered some of our old treasured beloveds together in my bedroom for a photo shoot.
Both of my daughter’s childhood teddy bears and blankets as well as my own dear teddy. Also, a white shawl blanket that was mine when I was a newborn that I tenderly saved for both of my daughters when they were newborns.

“Something that is loved is never lost.”  (Toni Morrison, Beloved)

Our beloved things can and usually do include many things: objects, souvenirs, people, pets, places, occasions, accomplishments and memories. Each of these things holds space in our beloved file for their own unique qualities.
My precious and very much beloved Calli, who I still miss today, more than five years after her death.

“She is a friend of my mind. She gather me, man. The pieces I am, she gather them and give them back to me in all the right order.”  ― Toni Morrison, Beloved

And each of our beloved files is part of who we are. A special and unique part.
A quote that I originally wrote for my online store in 2015 but is now posted on It’s Time To Get Honest.

So most importantly, remember, above all else, “You are your best thing”  ― Toni Morrison, Beloved
