I decided to do some more research on the Amazon Echo. First I started to review the detailed and impressive product information on the Amazon.com site. It’s not a secret that I have Amazon links on my site but I always make sure that I use links to products that are well reviewed and have good track records before I include them.
Here is a brief synopsis of some of the Echo product highlights:
-Echo is a hands-free voice control for Amazon Music, Prime Music, Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio, and TuneIn. Echo is also Bluetooth-enabled so you can stream other popular music services like iTunes from your phone or tablet.
-You can use Echo to switch on a lamp before getting out of bed, turn on the fan or even a space heater, or dim the lights from the couch to watch a movie. All of this, without lifting a finger.
-Also, in the last few months, Amazon has added services like local search from Yelp, movie showtimes, Samsung SmartThings support, Google Calendar, Audible audiobooks, text-to-speech for Kindle eBooks, and over 100 new skills from third-party developers.
And those points are just a start!
Quite obviously Echo is much more than a music device. To me, it may be the closest thing we have today to having a talking computerized home and virtual assistant!. Incredible.
I was quickly impressed and started wanting one for myself. My eye continued down the screen on my laptop to the customer review section. Naturally, as a writer of sorts myself, I stopped at one review that was written by someone who identified themselves as a writer.
The review was written in a narrative describing the new Echo owners delightful “relationship” with his Echo. He went on to include a supposed conversation between the two of them. It was a very funny write up.
The reviewer even summarized that had he known that relationships were, in fact, this delightful he might have married much sooner in life!
He also included a cute photo of himself with his new purchase.
Despite the funny and unique narrative, the review was also very informative and well written.
I have no idea who this man is but over 800 people responded to his review with praise and gratitude. His review alone may boost Echo sales. If you’re interested in reading more here’s the item and page: Just click on the image, it’s bookmarked.
